Finding Meaning in Healthcare: Connecting Meaning and Service in Your Healthcare Work
Interprofessional Retreat Workshop – Online
Thursday, November 19, 2026
1:00pm to 5:00pm – Eastern Standard Time
Presenters: Evangeline Andarsio, MD and Suzanne Scheller, MS, RN, CNE
The capacity to find deep meaning in our everyday healthcare work life is essential to mitigation of burnout and compassion fatigue. However, the stresses and challenges of healthcare can prevent us from being aware of meaning in work. Also, those stresses can prevent us from living out a truly authentic life of service in our healthcare profession.
During this RISHI Retreat Workshop, through reflection, narrative including storytelling, journaling and poetry, as well as the use of symbolic objects, you will have the opportunity through online small and large discussion community spaces to explore the deep meaning and service intention of your healthcare work…your Calling.
All healthcare professions are welcome to join us for this retreat experience.
The Remen Institute for the Study of Health and Illness, founded by Rachel Naomi Remen, MD, bestselling author of Kitchen Table Wisdom and My Grandfather’s Blessings, has developed powerful innovative and effective tools for resiliency and professional longevity, drawing upon the award-winning discovery model methods of RISHI.
