POWER OF NURSING™: Open Q&A Session January 11, 2024 @3 pm CST

The Power of Nursing™ (PON) program provides attendees with tools and strategies to boost resilience and strengthen personal commitment to nursing which is so needed in this climate of healthcare. The U.S. Surgeon General sent out an Advisory on Addressing Health Worker Burnout: Building a Thriving Health Workforce. proposing that we “develop integrated programs focused on supporting student wellness” and he specifically mentioned the Healer’s Art program, which provides the foundational structure of PON, as a way to better prepare students and trainees for clinical stressors. As part of nursing curriculum or nursing residency programs, PON:

1. Anchors nursing students and clinicians to the core values of the nursing profession.
2. Promotes professional resilience.
3. Enables nursing students and clinicians to find joy and satisfaction in their daily work.
